D&N was approached to build 10 high-quality houses in Warminster, Wiltshire. Situated in a flood zone and within a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the plot presented some significant ecological challenges for our builders. The council had already indicated that there were severe limitations on local drainage options – and we were tasked by the developers to find an effective solution.
Working with local planners and an external drilling contractor, we installed a novel, cost-effective directional drilling system that involved passing the waste water and sewerage under the site and then across a field to link up with mains drainage. We also successfully managed the build work while respecting the local ecological constraints and maintaining a distance from the Wildlife Buffer Zone. The houses, which range from two- to five-bedroom properties, have all been built to a high specification – with traditional materials, timber frames and high-quality fittings throughout.
The development was completed on schedule in July 2017.
